Design Process
The design process will be similar whether the project is a new home, an addition to an existing home, or a home modification:
1. Contact is made via phone or email and a meeting is scheduled.
2. Complimentary initial consultation occurs. We meet each other and I gather information about you and your project needs.
3. When a contract is reviewed and a price agreed on, a retainer check will be collected. Another meeting is planned where your home will be measured inside and outside as required by the scope of the project. If a new home or an addition is planned, I will need an existing site survey or site plan. Your project needs and goals will be reviewed with you and another date will set for the first design review.
4. The design development proceeds with review meetings as required until you are happy and satisfied with the preliminary designs.
5. After acceptance of the preliminary designs the production of the working drawings begins.
6. When the working drawings are complete you will have a chance to review the final plans before they are printed.
7. After final review and printing you will be able to apply for your building permits and solicit contractors to bid on the work. Assistance with this step is available if you request it as part of our contract.
8. Services relating to project consultation during construction and material selections is also available.
